Channel 4’s award-winning, globally popular tv format ‘Come Dine With Me’ enters the Metaverse. Metavision worked closely with ITV Studios label Multistory Media and Minecraft build team Blockworks to develop a Minecraft world, so that players can go head to head to become the ultimate dinner party host.
Come Dine With Me is currently reaching younger audiences with short-form content across social platforms. How do we get these audiences to become more immersed with the TV show?
Maybe more than any other show, Come Dine With Me feels at home in Minecraft. Come Mine With Me is a bespoke experience in which players are invited to step into the bustling town of Minechester to design and build a dinner party from scratch. Here they will find shops typical to a British town, from a grocer’s and florist all the way to a builder’s yard so that players can build a dinner party beyond their imagination. By the end of the ‘evening’, each player will score their friends out of 10, with the contestant with the highest score crowned the winner… at least until next time.
To bring the familiar format beats of Come Dine With Me to the next generation of fans, we enlisted Dave Lamb, the show’s beloved narrator, to provide his iconic voiceover for the experience’s trailer video and socials.
