With the launch of the new development toolbox ‘Unreal Editor for Fortnite’ (UEFN) in March 2023, we were able to take Netflix’s ONE PIECE production assets and optimise them in Fortnite Creative. The results? Creating a bespoke experience with custom audio and custom assets, including the show’s key three ships: The Baratie, The Going Merry, and Garp’s Warship.
Introduce Netflix’s ONE PIECE as a must-see series, showcasing some of the sets from the show and building excitement and buzz.
To promote the launch of Netflix’s new live action ONE PIECE series, we created a bespoke map in Fortnite Creative featuring the show’s key three ships. This set the scene for a swashbuckling battle between the Straw Hats and the Marines, where Fortnite players were dropped into either crew equipped with swords, flint-knock pistols, and cannons with the aim to destroy their opponent’s ship, and be crowned the winner.
Outside of this intense 3v3, players also had the chance to explore and engage with ONE PIECE assets in high fidelity. The inclusion of custom audio and VO from the show also meant we were able to make a playable alternative of the live action, immersing players truly within the ONE PIECE world.
The experience was launched by Netflix on their social media channels, generating hype amongst the Fortnite community, including influential Fortnite content creators. It was further amplified on Enthusiast Gaming’s season 2 premiere of NFL’s Tuesday Night Gaming across Twitch, YouTube and X, involving NFL players such as Cam Jordan and Jammal Williams battling alongside content creators including Fuslie and SypherPK.
