We were set the tag to launch Don Toliver’s upcoming album with on Fortnite. But music experiences on Fortnite are a dime-a-dozen/ For players to take note however, we had to put them in the drivers seat, and break the formula with a first-of-it's-kind playable music experience.
Featuring a collection of new songs from Don’ Toliver’s new album, Hardstone immerses players deeper into his music and cinematic storytelling with captivating and original gameplay.
Within the experience, two teams must battle for control of five distinct map locations, each inspired by Don’s upcoming new album. The game blends Hardpoint’s signature gameplay with a strategic mix of Battle Royale-inspired mechanics to deliver an original experience that caters to the Fortnite audience.
We leveraged new features and technical capabilities in Fortnite Creative to bridge the visuals in the real-world and the digital world. From recreating Don’s real-life custom chopper, to recreating whole environments from Don’s music videos.
The launch of the experience coincided with the launch of Don’s Smooth Slide emote in Fortnite. And as part of the amplification, Don Toliver himself posted social teasers in the lead up to launch which culminated in a Twitch livestream with himself and other renowned streamers including Clix and Bugha.
